a) I am trying to learn to build a Google gadget for my Google Sites site. b) I want to host the gadget on App Engine. c) The gadget will not need any backend processing. d) The gadget will contain 'src=" to load CSS and JavaScript.
Everything I read points me to more reading. I am becoming sick and tired of reading, reading, reading and getting nowhere. I am a beginner, so please keep your answers as simple as possible. i) What tool do I use to create a gadget? I want to use App Engine because Google Gadgets Editor can't store images, stylesheets, etc. ii) I want to store my gadget, images, stylesheets, etc., on App Engine. That's all I need. Do I have to learn Java, Python, download SDK, etc., just to store some files on App Engine? iii) Where does Eclipse fit in all this? Please reply.
