What would you recommend as a book about website design? I am looking for a book about website design that is not simply instructions for using Rails, Django, or an older framework like Zope or OpenACS.
On the data storage side, I'd like to understand storage in a general way so that I can use either MySql, Appengine or CouchDB. Instead learning by painful trials, get an understanding of the different lookup structures so I can build with any one of those storage schemes. Thanks for a book recommendation. The posts about the new Google App Engine service charges make it obvious to me, I need to take my Python programming and modest information gadget projects elsewhere. I will miss the community and I will miss the neat feeling of using the same application engine that might have actually been worked on by Guido van Rossum. Thanks again.
