We're seeing this quite a bit in the past few weeks. Various
percentages then "on backend null." and failure. Is the GAE team aware
of this issue? Here's an example...

[java] 20% Scanning files on local disk.
[java] 25% Scanned 250 files.

[java] 33% Cloned 100 files.
[java] 34% Cloning 324 application files.
[java] 35% on backend null.
