This may sound like I'm a hired shill for another company's products, but if 
you have to send tons of emails to recipients on various email services, I'd 
recommend Amazon SES.

Especially if you are using App Engine Python.  The boto lib 
(https://github.com/boto) can have you sending emails using SES in 30 
minutes.  Also, Amazon provides instructions to add SPF info for your 
domain, so mails are more likely to get to the recipient (still not 
guaranteed though).

I was really pleased with how easy it was to implement.
