You can use the login setting in app.yaml to 'protect' your app, or
portions of it.

Or you can do the same thing manually yourself.  See the first example
in the user object docs:
  http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/python/users/userobjects.html
If the user is not signed in just issue a redirect, or return an error.
