After thinking about it, I'm guessing Google will make its search results programmatically accessible when you pry those search results from its cold dead Googlehands.
Their entire revenue stream is based around monetizing content.. and search results are the original googlecontent.. so this would probably be why AJAX Search API is so crippled... seems like Google would be better off just not releasing an API for accessing search results at all..
