Sorry again - by what do you mean - are you saying the approach i have used
dosnt work? is this a bug - its documented as the way to pass params into
queries.
is it better to form the string
"where x=%s limit %s" %('martin',10)
is that the correct method?

Just do a string substitution. GQL isn't SQL and you're not at risk of an
injection attack.
