>From what Google has said, the issue is due to the hardware "upgrade" last week, not heavy new apps. They seem confident that it will return to previous performance next Monday evening when they do the second scheduled maintenance. I'm guessing they are changing infrastructure and had to swap out something that is causing all the issues.
