Argh!

I'll take that bet. Sigh.

I have at least 3 or 4 working 63's, but none is better than...

63.529.

I guess I'll just have to go with the leaderboard's implication that
I'm
still tied with Chris :)

Yeah. I wish I could spectate, but actually both of my eyeballs fell
out
already. I got the other algorithm down to 80 or so, and even had an 85
or so that used lt instead of sort, not that that helps.

But given that my company laid off 5% of its workforce today, and
keeping in mind the Perl Golf Purity Test (or whatever)'s "convinced
yourself that working on it at work is actually good for the company",
I
think I'm just going to have to call it quits. Especially since TPR07
will be starting in 12 days. (I really really really hope, for my own
mental and physical health, that that's not true. Given that most
English speakers have some vacation time the last week of the year,
that
might be a good time to do the next one, and then TPR07 could be Feb
1.)

I guess being in the top 10 for one day is better than never, but I
should've known it wouldn't last. I had to go and order the Oreilly
PL/SQL book and actually pay money for it instead.

Perseverance is key! I've never actually won very much in a single
contest.

Speaking of which, I think refs should try hard to modify tiebreakers
so
that they spread things out a lot. Note that the entire range right now
is .5->.63. (Of course, in this case that actually helped me :)
