Okay, so I've decided to practise my golfing before the next apocalypse (after steadfastly refusing to try -n0 //m in my last outing, and just discovering ~$&). I thought maybe I should devise my own problem to golf. But then not 5 minutes later I stumble across an excellent candidate due to Christian Neukirchen. The problem is a text scrambler which does this:
# (1) Only letters will be encrypted. # (2) Words with less than 3 letters will be reversed. # (3) Words with more than 3 letters will be scrambled this way: # * All letters on even locations move to the left-hand side. # * All letters on odd locations move to the right-hand side. # * A "`" gets between the both sides if the word has more # than 4 characters. e.g. # The only time anyone has tried to make a problem for me was those # owners, so called, self-styled owners of Gosling Emacs. # -- RMS "Lecture at KTH", 30.
