I understand the argument that some people are too busy for monthly holes, and that golf is addictive, but that's not a valid reason to reduce the number of holes. The stats show that many people do play every month and the courses are quite full already, so there's no evidence that the high frequency of events is causing decreasing interest. There is no penalty for non-participation in any given course (except for not increasing your the total career "winnings"), so there is no reason why the lack of individual time/interest for a minority should drive the entire community. If we do start to see decrease in participation, or great difficulty finding referees (I think the latter is far more likely) then we should talk about changing the frequency, but not until then, I suggest.
