Hi all, The referees are enjoying themselves tremendously with all of your ingenious and devious solutions to our two little holes, and we hope you're having a moderate amount of fun too...
We're just past halfway, and already 104 golfers have submitted their solutions, 687 in total. The battle for first place has been fierce, and we can expect a lot more in the time that is left! Who will win? Rick Klement, who has an impressive record, but has never won yet? Eirik Berg Hanssen, who can be the second Norwegian to top the list? Jerome Quelin, the best beginner (as far as I know) of the very first tournament back in December? And the beginner's category is no less exciting! Will it be Greg Allen, who has surprised us all with his solid play? Or Michiel van Leeuwen, who shows waarin een klein land groot kan zijn! Oranje boven! In the team competition, Taipei.pm have overtaken the Referees, and are now certain to win, as we won't submit any new solutions. Unless, of course, more teams join in the fun. If you don't think you can improve on your own solutions any more, why not join a team? It's a good way to improve your play and your perl, and to have a good time. If you join a team, you can't improve your individual score any longer. Whether your individual score still counts, is a matter for your conscience and perhaps for the mailing list to decide... (Although I'd like to see more teams, I think it would be a bad idea if our top golfers would create teams around themselves, so this is especially aimed at the lower placed competitors. But I trust all of your good judgements.) Happy Golfing! Eugene -- It is when I struggle to be brief that I become obscure. -- Horace
