...that Ian Lance Taylor is departing Google and taking a break from Go. Ian has been an inspiration and a leader by example of how to foster and create a vibrant technical community. To me, and I suspect to many, he has been the face of Go for over a decade. He sets the highest bar for professionalism, technical prowess and innovation on very hard problems, all while being unwaveringly kind, welcoming to new comers, and answering new and old Gopher's hardest and most basic questions here on golang-nuts.
