I would say lack of culture. One of the thing I don't like with golang-nuts is that there is not an unique quoting rule. People here use both top and bottom posting. Coming from usenet I feel a bit uncomfortable like now when I'm replying to this thread.
I consider polite to use the interleaved reply style and to trim the original message as much as possible. It requires time and thinking, something that seems to be rare nowadays.
