Inferno was written in the early 90's by Ken Thompson, Rob Pike, Roger 
Peppé, Dennis Ritchie, Brian Kernighan, and other brilliant minds. It's 
been lovingly maintained by Charles Forsyth since the early 2000's (the 
latest update was just 2 days ago).

It is based on the Limbo programming language (the predecessor of Go).

It's really a masterpiece!
