That note from Stroustroup is profound. Thanks for sharing. Personally, I'm glad that we have a language where the philosophy is "What is the minimum feature-set which allows you to do anything you need to do", as opposed to the opposite approach which seems to be taken by many elements in the programming community. There is so much to be said for a system which can be learned in its entirely by anyone, by remaining small enough.
