Go catches a bunch of simple programming errors like unused variables, imports etc. Should it not catch bad appends like this ?
foo := []string{} foo = append(foo) I understand the signature of the append function is ([]any, on_or_more ...) which allows the compiler to build it - but such a simple mistake could / should be also checked by the compiler...
