These weird function names have a long history <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Printf_format_string>. You might find the format specifiers to be a little weird, so take a look at the fmt package docs <https://godoc.org/fmt> for some examples.
If you check the Godoc for the specific functions, you'll notice that Sprintf <https://godoc.org/fmt#Sprintf> formats a string and returns it (so you can use it later), and Printf <https://godoc.org/fmt#Printf> formats a string and writes it to standard output.
