hi folks, i've just gotten a new project to a vaguely-working-alpha state (release early, release often!) that facilitates automatically testing combinations of possible dependency versions: https://github.com/sdboyer/gta. it's gps-based (https://github.com/sdboyer/gps), and is at least sorta cross-package-manager.
