Thank you very much for your remark. Actually, I have meant this to be just an example for the problems to expect if too many features are missing. Secondly, I suspect that there are more keyservers out there (running other software) which also would reject those keys (I didn't try, though, so this is speculation). Thirdly, this is the keyserver which is preset in Enigmail (I didn't change the default). For naive users like me, it is not possible to check a keyserver's software version and to analyze how mature / stable it is. I even wouldn't come to that idea, because this is the default keyserver in a well-known software package :-) If I wouldn't have been able to generate correct keys / IDs using GnuPG directly, I eventually would have given up on encryption.
