And neither does option 12 in the 'select what > kind of key you want' menu Sorry, I was not clear enough in my description. I created a main key first (tested with RSA main key and also with a couple of the ECC curves). Then I added subkeys via the --edit-key dialogue (addkey). (In that dialogue there is an option 12.) I can ask GnuPG to generate a curve 25519 encryption subkey. But (sub)key generation fails. However, it will generate a curve 25519 signing subkey. > snad@snad:~$ gpg2 --expert --full-gen-key > gpg (GnuPG) 2.1.0; Copyright (C) 2014 Free Software Foundation, Inc. > This is free software: you are free to change and redistribute it. > There is NO WARRANTY, to the extent permitted by law. > > Please select what kind of key you want: > (1) RSA and RSA (default) > (2) DSA and Elgamal > (3) DSA (sign only) > (4) RSA (sign only) > (7) DSA (set your own capabilities) > (8) RSA (set your own capabilities) > (9) ECC and ECC > (10) ECC (sign only) > (11) ECC (set your own capabilities) > Your selection? 9 I see curve 25519 if I go via option 11 at that point. It can be selected and will create a main key. - -- Best regards MFPA mailto:2014-667rhzu3dc-lists-gro...@riseup.net CAUTION! - Beware of Warnings! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQF8BAEBCgBmBQJUYCSfXxSAAAAAAC4AKGlzc3Vlci1mcHJAbm90YXRpb25zLm9w ZW5wZ3AuZmlmdGhob3JzZW1hbi5uZXRCM0FFN0VDQTlBOEM4QjMwMjZBNUEwRjU2 QjdDNzRDRUIzMUYyNUYwAAoJEGt8dM6zHyXwrgYH/1shOUrHiunFjBxAMuyLX9qB gW+y9rWmzLhyanHZjn9+TfbNz89Rywg5VitupV8DaY0IUwnx0RnWyqybP7DCci/W NGNbxeL+UXWq1a0E4PWuZb/x8P44HoAEBoQsAAWhR30aZb856m/VjcnqQfoIOF04 KY0VGHwtl+2DU6b90aJ0/BsOrMpOKpdc+nDUGKlji+puYLgfKIfqvy0DZj/EkwiE XspdfKiDsF6TVk17lPDrozkk/lbT7TkNod1P1cxLaXrCwhpUBKOwOpYqI3JIV6Ec 3Mq7zwc+YBaCY9/Esi82QINsWsFMT8rw/2o7pK/ZplppGC51bJbrEWWpugXONBQ= =owMr -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Gnupg-users mailing list Gnupg-users@gnupg.org http://lists.gnupg.org/mailman/listinfo/gnupg-users
