At least on 32 bit machines SHA-256 is faster than SHA-512. Some CPUs have hardware support for SHA-256 but not for SHA-512. With DSA and ECDSA a SHA-512 digest is anyway truncated (to 256 bit for dsa3072). Shalom-Salam, Werner -- Die Gedanken sind frei. Ausnahmen regelt ein Bundesgesetz. _______________________________________________ Gnupg-users mailing list Gnupg-users@gnupg.org http://lists.gnupg.org/mailman/listinfo/gnupg-users
