Running latest version of GPG on Windows XP.

I will sometimes start my PC and when the WinPT program launches, I have
a 0-byte pubring or secring. I have backups, but I am a little
concerned that I could lose all of my keys due to some corruption or
improper closing of the file.

Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions on things I can do to
help prevent this?

Thanks.
