A "bit reserved" doesn't exactly mean opposed. And as 2.7 support is running *out*, it don't think it makes sense for a rewrite to target it unless there is really an issue with Python3 availability (which I don't see), and it would have to be a severe one as obviously we can live with some tests not working on some very exotic platforms. > What's the expected time to be spend per week on the project? IIRC GSoC rules state 40h/week ("full time") for 3 months. > We have other bugs open, maybe I bring myself up to date on > those. I also have a special GNS-related topic I'd like to do a Mumble with you, dvn, Daniel Golle and Martin Schanzenbach some time soon, to see if we think we can do it. > GSoC is a bit fuzzy on what's "good enough" and what not, if you > compare for example GNU Guix and the projects Debian or FreeBSD > offer. Oh, sure, there is always lots of variation. However, we should come up with a plausible timeline that is neither too ambitious nor looks like you'll be mostly on vacation ;-). Regardless, let's Mumble --- and obviously you need to figure out your own availability. >> On 02/16/2018 11:06 AM, n...@crash.cx wrote: >>> Hi all, >>> >>> we take initiative applications as well as applications on topics >>> we officially offered ones, right? >>> >>> So let's say I wanted to work the summer on what I looked into >>> earlier this year and last year, reimplementing the python based >>> parts of the GNUnet testsuite in standardized python-2.7 >>> testsuites, would there be a mentor and an official GNUnet <-> >>> GNU <-> GSoC relation (work the summer, document it, get payed >>> (as far as I understand GSoC))? >>> >>> I'm not 100% sure if I can do it (waiting for some job interviews >>> at the moment), but if we would have a mentor for this I would >>> write an official application for it. >>> >>> Thanks, >>> NG >>> >> >> _______________________________________________ >> GNUnet-developers mailing list >> GNUnet-developers@gnu.org >> https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gnunet-developers >> >
