> What am I doing wrong here? Well, I found the solution, I think. As indicated in many forums, I had redirected ~/.config/gtk-3.0 to a theme of (almost) my liking, FlatStudioDark. But it seems that XFCE, through a mechanism I haven't found out yet, calls the theme selected by its 'Appearance-settings' after the redirected gtk-3.0 theme. So, effectively, two themes were fighting to control the appearance. As per CSS, the last one won, but some changes of the first (mine) did continued to seep through, and caused confusion. I now found out how to define my modified theme with its own name, so it appears on the XFCE theme list... Issue solved. My apologies for the noise.
