Robert, Do any of the Menu Items work for you such as File >> Open ?
From memory if you've never had GnuCash installed on your Mac Mini it will open with an empty data file and take you through the process of creating a new file so what you're seeing is probably the expected result for a new install? Copy your data file over to the Mac Mini and use File >> Open in Gnucash to see if it opens as expected for you. See below for the wiki details on what you should copy over to the new PC. Cheers David H. *Q:* I just got a new computer. What should I copy over from my old one?*A*: You need to copy the same files that you'd backup, so see Backup <https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Backup>. - If your new computer runs a *different operating system* from the old one the configuration locations will be different, see Configuration Locations <https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Configuration_Locations>. - If you're *upgrading to GnuCash 3.x* from an older version at the same time as the upgrade, copy the configuration files to the older version location and let GnuCash move them to the new locations. https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Backup On Tue, 3 Nov 2026 at 08:12, Robert Olle <[email protected]> wrote: > Moving from Win11 to Mac mini M6 > > Started with OS 26 (encountered issue with Gnucash) > > It never opened as a “normal” app. It started a new installation with > default accounts with 0 values.
