Do you have an attached non-retina monitor and that’s where the truncated menus
appear?
If so it’s a Gtk bug that goes back a couple of years.

Yes, I do, but I hadn't had the problem for several years until GC 5.11.
GC 5.10 was fine.
I've just verified that I don't have the problem on the MacBook's Retina
monitor.
