*Question*: Is my "Next Time" the only solution? *Problem*: the trial balance was out of balance in the 2nd month of use.
*Next Time*: After several hours of looking, I have a balanced Trial Balance. My plan to find the problem IF there is a next time (will not take hours): 1. Check for any Imbalance or Orphan accounts. I had a one line transaction. 2. Update the trial balance report with SELECT ALL to add any new accounts. 3. If the TB is still out-of-balance, run it for various days to isolate the problem to one day. Run the 15th. If Balanced, run the 22nd. If unbalanced, run the 19th. Repeat until the unbalanced day is found. 4. Drill down on bank or cash, filter by the date found in step 3 to find the problem transaction. 5. Good luck from there. My problem was an accidentally ticked Hidden tab when setting up one account. I posted to this account. I unticked the Hidden. 6. Which didn't result in a balanced trial balance until I added the account to the report. I opened the report Options tap and selected SELECT ALL. Balanced!! Note: SHOW Hidden Accounts is ticked in the report options. I'm not sure when I ticked it, so it may or may not be part of the solution.
