I'm not sure what you mean by "gnucash is not maintained anymore". GnuCash, the main accounting software, certainly is maintained. It receives continuing work and new releases. Maybe you meant that the gnucash-fiximports project is not maintained anymore?
Also, since you know the kind of discussion we have on this list, I am certain you have predicted what I am going to reply to:

GnuCash is a free software project. Both the documentation and software sources are available, and pull requests are accepted. If there is an addition to the documentation that would address your concern, you are welcome to submit it. (But note that recommending non-GnuCash software is a different matter than just improving the documentation.) If you want to write a bulk edit feature for the GnuCash app, you are welcome to submit that.
