Bob,

No great problem. Create the folder and then locate the datafile, its
backup and log files, i.e. anyfiles which have the base filename you
gave the file e.g. 
<filename>.gnucash 
<filename>.gnucash.<timestamp>.gnucash
<filename>.gnucash.<timestamp>.log

where <timestamp> is a string with format "yyyymmddhhmmss" e.g.
.20250110060236
 
Any file <filename>.LCK can be deleted.

When you next start GnuCash use the File->Open dialogue to navigate to
the folder and the datafile in it and open it.  After that GnuCash
should remember where the file is on subsequent openings unless you
open another data file.
