There does seem to be a disconnect between the two. I know John Ralls says the former, but I've long observed the latter. Personally, I'd prefer not to be bound by the namespace; every time there's a new commodity to add, I end up going online to figure out what exchange that stock is traded on, so that price retrieval works.
