Heidi, The problem is that you replied to the Digest which is a summary of posts for a given day rather than replying to a specific topic contained in that summary. To post a new query you only need to send an email to gnucash-user@gnucash.org, with the topic in the subject line, something like "Posting a Vendor Bill". This will make it a lot easier for people with appropriate expertise to make comments
What specifically are you having problems with. The bill creation process is detailed in the Tutorial and Concepts guide at https://www.gnucash.org/docs/v5/C/gnucash-guide/bus_ap.html. You will have to create a vendor if the vendor is not already entered in GnuCash prior to creating the bill but the bill creation dialogue gives you an option of adding a new vendor. If the above doesn't help, then describe what part of the bill creation process you are having problems with.
