FossaPup is based on Ubuntu Focal Fossa 20.04 LTS. I don't think this ubuntu-based series was continued, at least not officially. The newer release is based on Debian Bookworm, but Fossapup did get an updated release iso in March 2023.

Even modern Pups run in RAM. That's part of how they work.

I don't think the OS is necessarily the issue. And as I haven't touched Puppy in several years, I don't know if someone is maintaining GnuCash builds, or if you have to build it yourself.

I'd agree with the recommendation to just build a modern version if that isn't too much trouble. This may cause issues with dependencies though and might necessitate upgrading FossaPup to BookwormPup, or else building lots of upgraded dependencies first.

I use the Invoices/Bills Due Reminder feature, but I don't use the Jobs feature, so can not comment on if that bug still exists in 5.8. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Regards,
Adrien

According to Distrowatch, Fossapup was first released in September 2020.
There is no indication of which version of Gnucash will run on that OS but
it probably cannot run recent versions since it holds the entire OS in
RAM. There would not be much room for data unless there is enough RAM (and
other resources) to switch to a different flavor of Linux. I can run
GnuCash 4.8 in LinuxLite 6.0 with all current updates, but it is a lot
slower than 5.8 would be in [shudder] Windows.

That said, can someone answer the OP's question about the invoice due
reminder?
