Do the bank account and credit card have separate statements? What is the connection between them? I'm sure things are different in various parts of the world, however my debit card is connected to a bank deposit account and shares the same statement, whereas my credit cards have always had complete separation from any deposit account. Can you tell us about the system, because it may have a bearing on why you have funny results on reconciliation.
