I wouldn't be in favor of a blinking tab. And if it were implemented, I'd for sure want to turn it off. But there might be some other effective method.

Other than what was described in the bug report about directing you back to the uncommitted transaction explicitly, I can't see a path to guard against a non-graceful shutdown. (aka 'crash')
