Check permissions on your .gcm file, and on the folder or directory that
contains it. For instance, if your main database file is XYX.GnuCash,
the .gcm file is XYX.GnuCash.gcm. It contains the geometry of the
Accounts panel, among other things.

According to
<https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Configuration_Diagrams_-_MacOS> your .gcm
 file is located in USER_DATA_HOME/GnuCash/books, and according to
<https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Configuration_Locations> USER_DATA_HOME
is /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support. (On OS X 10.6 and
older, replace Application Support with Applications Defaults.
