Althoughthose calculators are not available to me, I agree that you are

Weagree. We have agreement on a critical point.

Onceagain, we agree.

Onthe Microsoft standard calculator in my windows machine 15,000/10.89=

1,377.410468319559.David, your supposition is correct. We agree.

Accordingto Jeff Earickson, the problem is that his books do not balance.

Inmy opinion, GnuCash is an excellent program with many experiencedpeople
interested in it and many experienced developers developingit. I am impressed
that you are so gracious you will discuss it withme.

Speakingof $10.8900037026 per share you say, “I defy anyone to pay thatamount
per share in U.S. currency.” We agree. At one time in thepast, developers of
GnuCash decided to treat price per share as anapproximation and the number of
shares traded in a transaction as aprecise number. We agree that no one is
going to pay$10.890,003,702,6 per share of a stock. You seem to be saying
that,in this transaction, the purchaser paid $10.890,000,000,0 per shareof the
stock. If so, that implies that you believe, and we agree, thenumber of shares
traded might not always be a precise number.

Butregardless of that, the essential issue seems to be, to me, thatGnuCash is
not yet using numbers with enough significant digits toalways calculate results
sufficient for our users needs.

Whatare we going to do for people like Jeff Earickson?
