A couple of weeks ago I attempted to download my USAA transactions using Direct
Connect for OFX through GnuCash. It failed several times over a couple of days
with the error: “The user cannot sign on because he or she entered an invalid
user ID or password.” I then followed the procedures to reenroll. The Access
ID and Access Pin were the same but the URL produced a new 5 section Client ID
which I changed to all caps and input into Aqbanking per the directions Once
input, I then successfully downloaded my accounts after putting in my Access
Pin. I applied everything and closed Aqbanking. I received an e-mail from
USAA confirming that Quicken Direct Connect was now connected to my USAA
accounts. I also logged on to my profile at USAA and confirmed that Quicken
Direct Connect showed as a connected app.

At that point, I again tried to download transactions through GnuCash and
received the same error: Following is the script for that action. (Note I
have changed the User and account numbers to X’s)

Below is the corresponding trace:

* 10:35:38 ERROR <>

Note: In the trace, the “Handling User” is followed by the Access ID. The
“Handling Account” is followed by a four digit number that is different than
the Customer number in the script. When testing download of a different
account, the “Handling Account” is followed by another different number so
“Handling Account” is probably account specific.

After the last failure, I went back to Aqbank setup and tried to again download
my accounts as a test and this time it failed with the same error message.

This same issue happened in May 2021 and I reenrolled as above and it worked
fine until now

Any ideas or help on how to fix this would be appreciated.

The problem started while using GC 4.11.1 though it worked perfectly in GC
4.11.1 until recently and now the issue persists in GC 4.13. I’m using macOS
Monterey v 12.6.2
