If you're using GnuCash 4.12 this is a known and fixed bug. Please upgrade to 
GnuCash 4.13. If you're already using 4.13 or if the crash persists after 
upgrading
please open a bug report 
(https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Bugzilla#Commenting_on_existing_bugs_or_entering_new_ones)
 and *attach* the crash report 
(https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Stack_Trace#macOS).
