This details the configuration locations for each OS type (Windows Mac , Linux) About halway down the page there are some links to diagrams https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Configuration_Diagrams_-_Linux showing the locations diagrammatically for the three OS os's which may be a bit easier to follow as the description in the wikiuses pseudo environment variable definitiions.
