I finally got it figured out. My transactions in GNUC are correct after all. The cash on my brokers website has not been updated yet because the transactions have not been closed out. Once that happens the cash amounts will agree. So says my financial advisor.

Well, either
(a) the value of both sell and buy txns was the same, and you have
entered one of them wrong, or
(b) the values were different, so you shouldn't be expecting the net
result to be nil.

Only you can tell which applies.
