I tried what you suggested but I wasn't able to select individual
accounts. I could only select all accounts or just one.
I finally found what I was looking for on the other chart. I can get the
totals by selecting Options, Display tab, check Show table, then Ok.
That will add a table at the bottom with the totals.

By default it looks like a simple Income / Expense report but in two
columns. Go into the Options and pick one of the Period Durations:

Each bar is broken up into different accounts by color and you can
get the numbers for each account with a mouse hover but the sum of
all the accounts is missing. You can get an estimate of the total by
looking at the scale on the left but I need the exact number. I can
get that number by manually adding all the account amounts but that's
shouldn't be necessary.
