Hi Denise I am not sure why you have encountered that error.
As a workaround, you could try installing Strawberry Perl independently from this web site: https://strawberryperl.com/
Once perl is installed, you need to run the "gnc-fq-update" script (also located in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\gnucash\bin\" directory) to install the perl modules required to retrieve online quotes.
[Background: GnuCash relies on another free software package (perl) to access online quotes. Perl is not part of GnuCash.]
Report back here if you get stuck. Regards Geoff ===== On 17/01/2021 10:12 am, Denise Ufkes wrote:
Hello, I am just starting to set up GnuCash and want to set it up to automatically update mutual fund prices. I followed the instructions in the manual as show here, but got the following error. I can see the file it is looking for, but don't know why access is being denied. Can you help? Thanks.Dee _______________________________________________ gnucash-user mailing list gnucash-user@gnucash.org To update your subscription preferences or to unsubscribe: https://lists.gnucash.org/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-user If you are using Nabble or Gmane, please see https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Mailing_Lists for more information. ----- Please remember to CC this list on all your replies.
