Chris, As someone sitting across the pond from you... I think there is definitely interest in MTD in GnuCash. The issue, I think, is going to be the GPL nature of anything you would contribute to GnuCash, and the challenge of obtaining the API key for said GPLed code. Having said that, I suspect the developers would welcome a PR that includes this functionality.
