Tony, No need to dig much; there's an outstanding bug (https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=797959) that addresses the issue at length. That bug is supposed to be fixed in the upcoming release.

In addition I find that if I use the backspace key to try to alter a number before committing, GnuCash shuts down immediately, however using the backspace to delete the comma separator works fine. Bit more digging to do. <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail> Virus-free. www.avast.com <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail> <#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2> On Tue, Nov 17, 2020 at 10:47 AM <py...@cox.net> wrote: > Tony -- just curious -- this seems very similar to the thousand separator > issue of entries over $1,000 when you include the thousands separator > (comma).
