Hi, I have Ubuntu 20.04 With Flatpak and Gnome Software installed in addition to the Ubuntu Software package manager. I started with GnuCash 4.1 and updated to 4.2 seamlessly with Flatpak. I only have one icon for GnuCash to launch as expected. This is the behavior I expected to get from Flatpak. I am not set to update automatically, and the update did not take place until I initiated it. I did not use the command line to update GnuCash and used Flatpak via Gnome Software. That’s the behavior in the latest Ubuntu with Gnome Software installed. I don’t have Linux Mint installed to test at the moment, So I can’t speak for the behavior in Linux Mint. I hope that helps the discussion at least from the perspective of Ubuntu.
