Hi JB, I have just duplicated the transaction you described of crediting a USD account and debiting it an AUD account and it worked fine as I would expect, not creating any additional accounts and using the current exchange rate for USD->AUD which it fetched. screenshots attached. GnuCash 3.4 on Linux Mint 19
