Steve, One possibility is to use synchronized data bases using master-slave replication. I know this works with MySQL and it is a bit of a pain to set up but once it is going it is generally pretty good. Also a bit of a pain to restart if the replication gets out of sync. I have been meaning to setup scripts to do that but haven't yet got around to it. I keep several database on my laptop and desktop in sync automatically. Not sure about PostGRES or sqlite3 replication capability.
