Dear John, Thank you for your prompt reply. I have let gnucash 3.0 load my user data, and then have saved them as an XML file.
Upon reopening, user data loading only took 30 seconds (instead of 30 minutes...) and the data file size has been reduced from 17Mo down to 1.7Mo. Thank you so much for your help.
