Brad, GB, This is an approach that would be difficult to do on a Mac, since users have to specially compile Gnucash to include python bindings. I don't know about for Windows, but it may be an issue there, too.
Long term, that may be a viable approach, but if you're going to go that route, using and modifying the established tool (Finance::Quote) might be more helpful to the communities that use that tool. Looking at the (extremely dated, and therefore perhaps incomplete or incorrect) wiki page for python in Gnucash, I see https://github.com/hjacobs/gnucash-stock-portfolio mentioned, which might be a starting point for you if you're set on using python. There might be something useful here: https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Importing_fund_or_stock_prices_from_an_OFX_file I'm going to wait a few days to see if someone smarter gets this sorted out :) On 11/04/2017 09:18 AM, GB wrote: > Hello > > As other people have noticed, the Finance::Quote function is no longer > working for folks (or rather it is something related to Yahoo!Finance API > modifications causing issues ) > > Is there a workaround for this?
